Strengthening Your Network

3 Reasons to Become a JMEC Sponsor

1. Give the Younger Generation a Chance

Jesper Koll, Managing Director and Head of JPMorgan`s Japanese Equity Research Centre, argues that “the biggest challenge for Japan is one of succession and demographics: the older generation needs to give the younger generation a chance”.1

JMEC offers young executives the opportunity to learn from the experienced older generation, while providing a forum where the younger generation can put its own unique twist on a creative business plan.

Benefit to Sponsor: Giving back to the community by helping to develop the next generation of global leaders in Japan. Depending on sponsorship level, sponsor may be eligible to send 1-7 employees through the JMEC business training program at no cost.

2. Building Partnerships

A common saying goes “It is not what you know, but who you know”.

JMEC is supported by 13 Chambers of Commerce in Japan, and has an alumni and supporters network that includes over 1,000 individuals from all parts of the world and across many industry sectors. The JMEC program encourages professional networking and building of long-lasting partnerships that are mutually beneficial.

Benefit to Sponsor: Inclusion of sponsor’s logo in all JMEC promotional materials and on the JMEC website, as well as distribution of sponsor’s materials at JMEC events. Depending on sponsorship level, benefits may also include: mention in press releases and media interviews, and invitations to the JMEC annual Awards Ceremony and to bi-annual Key-Speaker events.

3. Access to Change Agents

University of Tokyo Professor Emeritus Kiyoshi Kurokawa defines an “entrepreneur” as a “change agent”.2 While not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur, there is no denying that entrepreneurial thinking can move a company to the next level.

JMEC encourages participants to see change as an opportunity, not a problem. When confronted with their project tasks, JMEC teams are asked to challenge the traditional system when change is needed, encouraging creativity and innovation.

Benefit to Sponsor: Access to a pool of over 700 skilled and talented graduates of the JMEC program. (Lead Sponsor only: Option to obtain a business plan at no cost.)
