Current JMEC 16 Participant Chosen to Present at the Asia Pacific Week in Australia
Anthony Carver, a current JMEC 16 participant and graduate student of Sheffield University, received funding to participate in Asia Pacific Week at the Australia National University, Canberra. He was chosen to present a talk entitled "Is Japan economically open to outsiders?". The presentation included content inspired by the JMEC lecture series.
Asia Pacific Week is a conference and summer school that brings together hundreds of PhD candidates from Australia and overseas to workshop projects, who benefit from master classes and from networks committed to understanding the world's most dynamic region. Asia Pacific Week 2010 took place from February 9-11, 2010 at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. (click here for details )
Anthony`s talk was well received. Thanks to JMEC, it provided a practical twist to the otherwise very academic environment. Focusing on market entry to Japan, drawing from real world examples like the ParasolMedia Case Study presented by Uwe Bast and quoting from entrepreneurial experiences as shared by Jeff Char and others, he was able to combine academic information with practical applications, drawing a clear picture of business reality in Japan to date.
"The information I have gained from JMEC so far has really helped to augment my studies, and I'd just like to thank JMEC for giving me access to a such an experienced group of business people, many of whom have been kind enough to respond to my emails."
