Doing Business in Japan the JMEC Way
The Japan Market Expansion Competition (JMEC) is a business training program in Japan, which is centered on a business plan competition. The dual objectives of the program are to strengthen the skills of up-and-coming executives, while paving the way for foreign companies doing business in Japan.
JMEC was started in 1993 by a group of individuals who desired more training about doing business in Japan. Having found none available, they began their own business training program with the support of several of the foreign chambers of commerce. Since the inception of JMEC, the program has come to be supported by thirteen foreign chambers of commerce in Japan.
Individuals who participate in the business training program receive not only classroom training, but also hands-on experience writing a business plan for the Japanese market. Organizations that take part in the program as project clients receive a professional business plan for their activities in the Japanese market, at a fraction of the cost of hiring outside consultants.
Whether you are an organization in need of a business plan for the Japanese market, or an individual looking for business training in Japan, JMEC is for you.
